Food Inc

Somehow, my computer won't let me login to my blog, so I'm doing this from my iPhone. So, sorry if I had some spelling mistakes.
Over the winter break, I watched a movie called "Food Inc."
Just to give a short summary, this movie was about how agriculture had became into an "industry." The reason why we see same vegetables and fruits at supermarket throughout the year is because agriculture not something natural anymore. Because consumers prefer chickens breast part, many birds are artificially grown into twice as big as they normally should be, and their legs would break if they walk only 2 or 3 steps because they cannot afford to hold that huge body.
One big problem of agriculture is "corn." Most food sold in the supermarkets contains some kind of corn products, and corn is also used as food for cows, too. Cows cannot afford to digest corn, so many of them get sick. These birds and cows are not animals anymore, they are considered as products.
However, it is us consumers that should be careful. We all should take care what we eat daily, and we ourselves have to protect our own health.

A burger a day

My podcast audio's title was "A burger a day"
This was an audio from FREAKONOMICS RADIO and one of it's listener named Ralph Thomas asked what do you think is the cheapest, the mostnutritious, and bountiful food that has ever existed in history? DJ guesses that it must be Tofu or some kind of soy products or at least something healthy. The answer is............Macdonald's hamburger. He says is has 390 calories, 23g of protein, and has substantial amount of calciums and it costs only $1 or $2.
One's opinion whether you think hamburger is the most nutritious food ever depend's on how you see the world.
They compared 2 people's opinion, one who is an expert in health food area, and one who is a farmer.
An expert argues that in order to sell hamburger in that cheap cost, you have to imagine how much poor farmers are working without earning salaries.
One the other hand, the farmer says that them fpoor farmers are actually the consumer of those cheap hamburgers and they are beneffiting from it.
So, what is your opinion about this idea????

the best little girl in the world

After going to the doctor, she kept dieting. One day, a girl at her ballet studio named Julia talked to Francesca for the first time. As they got along, Julia asked Francesca to visit club together. Even though few boys came up to Francesca and asked her to drink with them, she refused and did not enjoy spending time there at all.

Atheletes Influencing kids to eat 'junk food'

I listened to this news titled "Athletes Influencing kids to eat 'Junk Food'".
This news says that athletes should be more careful for what they are endoring.
The study, published Monday in the journal Pediatrics, shows that of the 62 food and beverage products endorsed by athletes in 2010, nearly 80 percent of them fell in the junk food category.
In 2010 children aged 12 to 17 years old saw the most athlete endorsed food and beverage ads.

I strongly agreed with this news because athletes are the roll model and what what they aim for for children, so they should be aware how much they are ginving negative effects for children.

Food aphorisms

Out of all the food aphorisms listed on the worksheet, the one I prefer the most is "One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well." by Marya Hornbacher from Wasted: A Memoir of Anorexia and Bulimia. Last year, I myself went on a harsh diet because I wanted to lose weight. I didn't eat breakfast, ate only 2 bites of rice ball for lunch, and didn't eat dinner. I kept doing this kind of diet style for 3 month, and finally, I lost about 10kg. Although I lost weight, since I didn't consume enough nutrition, I couldn't concentrate on studying, couln't exercise a lot, and always felt dizzy. From this experience, I learned how important for human to dine well, so I totally agreed with this quote.

The one I didn't agree much was "The only time to eat diet food is while you're waiting for the steak to cook."by Julia Child.I kind of understand the feeling that foods that are high in calories like "steak" tastes really good and healthy foods sometimes doesn't tastes as good as them, I think human should be careful and eat balanced meal.
